Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo stated that Tamil schools play a vital role in the nation’s education system, serving not only as places of learning but also as strong platforms for nurturing students’ culture and identity.
In attending the 43rd Annual Sports Day of SJK(T) Ladang Effingham and observing the athletic skills of the students, he emphasised that continuous support must be given to schools to ensure every child gets the opportunity to develop their talents and contribute to the country’s future development.
Gobind Singh Deo announced that a total of RM237.48 million has been allocated from 2023 to 2026 for the maintenance, upgrading, and construction of new facilities in Tamil schools. He noted that providing this financial allocation, even as the nation continues to face economic challenges, reflects the government’s commitment to the welfare of the Malaysian Indian community and to ensuring that students receive an excellent educational environment during their school years.
He added that strengthening Tamil schools will further enhance the education, culture, identity, and individual talents of the students. Gobind Singh Deo also pledged to continue providing his best possible service to the community and to consistently offer the necessary support for Tamil schools and the Indian community.
