The Johor Government has approved an allocation of RM226,000 for SJKT Jalan Yahya Awal in Johor Bahru to improve the school’s infrastructure, safety and learning environment. The school currently has about 900 students and 54 teachers, making it an important educational institution for the local community.
During a recent visit to the school, the Menteri Besar of Johor, Onn Hafiz Ghazi, had the opportunity to meet the school community, listen to their needs and understand the improvements required. RM 26,000 out of the RM 226,000 allocation was given previously to support infrastructure improvements and school activities. The additional RM200,000 has now been approved to carry out several improvements works.
The new allocation will be used to repair the school’s sewage and septic tank system, as well as build fencing around areas that are currently unfenced.
Safety improvements will also be made to Block A and Block B, while rusty staircase handrails will be replaced with stainless steed handrails. Repairs will also be carried out on the auditorium or hall roof and covered walkways.
In addition, fencing will be installed around the school field and playground area to create a safer space for students during school activities. The Johor Government they will continue paying attention to the needs of schools and educational institutions across state, regardless of race or background.
The initiative is part of efforts to ensure that children in Johor have accessed to a safe, comfortable, and quality learning environment, while giving them the support needed to grow, learn and build a better future. Through these improvements, the state government hopes SJKT Jalan Yahya Awal will have a more conductive environment for their students and teachers
