Healthcare took centre stage in Puchong, Selangor, as 500 members of the public came together for a Free Health & Dental Screening Programme. The programme was held on August 8, 2026, at Kuil Sri Maha Mariamman Convention Hall, Puchong Batu 14.
The community-focused initiative aimed to make basic healthcare services more accessible while also encouraging members of the public to take a more proactive approach towards their health. From general health and dental check-ups to blood sugar and cholesterol testing, participants were allowed to receive a range of essential health services free of charge.
Apart from that, the programme featured nutrition counselling, quit-smoking support, medicine consultations and health education activities, making it a meaningful platform for individuals and families to learn more about their overall wellbeing.
Yeo Bee Yin, the Member of Parliament for the Puchong constituency and Jamaliah Jamaludin, the Member of Parliament for the Bandar Utama also attended the programme. The successful turnout of 500 people highlighted the importance of bringing healthcare services closer to the community, particularly through initiatives that remove financial and accessibility barriers.
The initiative was organised by Pusat Khidmat Parlimen Puchong, Kuil Sri Maha Mariamman Puchong Batu 14, Ahli Lembaga Pelawat Hospital Serdang, PKD Petaling, PKD Pergigian Petaling and THONDAN, with the support of healthcare professionals, volunteers and community members.
More than just a health screening programme, the event demonstrated how collaboration between community organisations, healthcare professionals and volunteers can create meaningful opportunities for the public to prioritise their health.
With 500 people reached in a single day, the programme served as a reminder that accessible healthcare begins with a community coming together to care for one another.
