Students from Perai who will be pursuing their bachelors’ degree for the 2026/2027 academic session now have the opportunity to apply for free laptop assistance under the Siswa Perai 2026 programme.
The initiative introduced by Perai assemblyman Dato’ Seri Sundarajoo Somu to support students from lower-income families as they begin their university journey. Under the programme, 50 eligible students will be selected to receive laptop, which can help them with assignments, online learning, research and other academic needs.

To qualify, applicants must be Malaysian citizens and registered voters in the Perai state constituency (KADUN Perai). They must also be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree programme at a public university, IPTA or IPTS for the 2026/2027 academic sessions.
The programme is targeted at students who need financial support, with applicants required to come from households earning no more than RM3,000 per month. Applicants for Siswa Perai 2026 opened on 13th August and will close on 26th August 2026. Interested students can submit their applicants through the QR code provided on the programme’s official poster.
The initiative is part of Dato’ Sundarajoo efforts to support the education of young people in Perai and ease some of the financial burden faced by families preparing their children for higher education.
With laptop becoming an important parts of university life, the programme hopes to give eligible students better access to the digital tools they need throughout their studies.
