Preparations are in full swing at the Kortumalai Pillayar Temple at Jalan Pudu Lama as the temple gets ready to host its Maha Kumbabhishegam this Sunday, August 23, 2026. The temple has been given a fresh new look as devotees and temple authorities work towards the auspicious ceremony.
A series of special prayers, poojas, and homams have been carried out throughout the week as part of the preparations. The rituals include Sri Vinayagar Pooja, Punyaka Vasanam, Moorthy Homam and other traditional ceremonies.

Today at 10 AM, devotees offered their gold, silver, and navaratnam (sacred gemstones) at the temple moolasthanam.
The prayers are being led by visiting Sivasri Pitchai Gurukkal Sivachariyar from Pillayarpatti, Tamil Nadu, together with KL Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Dhevasthanam chief priest Sivasri Sivakumar Battar Sivachariyar and a team of priests.

With the Maha Kumbabhishegam just days away, the ceremony is expected to draw a large number of devotees who will gather at the temple to witness and take part in the auspicious ritual on August 23, 2026.
Devotees are encouraged to participate in all the pooja ceremonies taking place at the temple this week in preparation for the Maha Kumbabhishegam. Also, please join the sacred day, Sunday, August 23, 2026.
