On 30th and 31st August Rapid KL will be extending selected rail and bus services for 24-hour operations to make travelling more easier during the National Day celebrations.

The extended hours will cover all Rapid KL services, such as LRT, MRT and KL Monorail. Train frequency on a few major routes will also be increased based on passenger demand and conditions at stations. Additional trains may be added if platforms become crowded.

The Sunway BRT, selected bus routes and Rapid KL On-Demand (ROD) services will also operate for 24 hours as well. This is expected to help those attending the Merdeka Eve celebrations on 30th August, as well as the National Day celebration in Putrajaya on the morning of 31st August.

Free Shuttle Busses to National Day Celebration

To make travelling to Putrajaya easier, Rapid KL will have 103 busses for free shuttle services along two routes.

The MS01 route, from Putrajaya Sentral to Jalan Tun Abdul Razak Precinct 2, will operate from 2PM on 30th August until 2PM on 31st August.

Meanwhile, MS02 route, connecting the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) to Jalan Tun Hussein, Precinct 3, will operate from 4AM to 2PM on 31st August. The free service is to reduce the number of private vehicles entering the celebration area and easing traffic congestion around Putrajaya.

More than 5,000 Rapid KL front-line personnel from different units will also work in shifts across the two days to manage crowds, support operations and make sure passengers can travel safely.

Those attending the celebrations are encouraged to use public transport and plan their journeys early. Passengers should also make sure their Touch ‘n Go cards have enough balance and follow staff instruction especially at crowded stations. Further updates on services will be available through Rapid KL’s social media platforms and rapid kl website
