In a significant and proud moment for Malaysia, young squash player Keerti Pradhaa Junivar Bala has made her mark on the international stage after securing three championship titles across Hong Kong, Korea and India within the month of August.
Competing in the Girls’ Under-13 (GU13) category, Keerti represented Malaysia with pride and determination, emerging as champion at the Hong Kong Junior Open 2026, 19th Korea Junior Open 2026 and Southern Slam 2026 in India.
Her remarkable run comes during Merdeka month, making the achievement even more meaningful as she continues to carry the Jalur Gemilang on the international sporting stage.
Three Countries, Three Championships
Keerti’s impressive August campaign saw her overcome strong opponents across three international tournaments.
- Hong Kong Junior Open 2026 – GU13 Champion
Held on August 9, Keerti defeated Yoshino Rio 3-2 in a closely contested final, winning 11-9, 9-11, 11-9, 8-11 and 11-6. - 19th Korea Junior Open 2026 – GU13 Champion
On August 15, Keerti secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Hong Kong’s HIU M.C., winning 11-8, 11-3 and 11-2. - Southern Slam 2026 – GU13 Champion
On August 22, she completed her international hat-trick by defeating Riyaa Dalal 3-1 in the final, with scores of 11-7, 6-11, 12-10 and 11-6.
The three international victories add to an already impressive 2026 season for Keerti, who has also claimed titles at the MILO SRAM National Junior Championships, SRAM National Junior Circuit 1st Leg, MSSM 2026 and Nicol David Rising Stars 2026. She was also the first runner-up at the Touch ’n Go Group SRAFKL International 2026.
According to the information shared by her family, Keerti is currently ranked Malaysia No. 1 in the Girls’ Under-13 category and No. 5 in the AJSS Girls’ Under-13 rankings.

Reflecting on her achievements, Keerti expressed her happiness and gratitude at being able to represent Malaysia on the international stage, particularly during Merdeka month.
“I am very happy and grateful to have won three international championships in Hong Kong, Korea and India, especially during Merdeka month. I feel very proud to carry the Jalur Gemilang and represent Malaysia.”
She also thanked her family, coaches, friends and supporters for standing by her throughout her journey, adding that she hopes to continue working hard, remain humble and make Malaysia proud.
