Actors Jayaram and Simran are all set to share the screen as lead stars in an upcoming romantic comedy directed by SY Gauthamraj. The films title is yet to be revealed, and has began it’s journey with a pooja ceremony. Gauthamraj is known for directing films such as Jyotika’s ‘Raatchasi’, and Arulnithi’s ‘Kazhuvethi Moorkan’.
While Jayaram and Simran has previously worked together in the 2002 Kamal Haasan’s film Panchathahiram, the upcoming project will mark the first time the two actors are coming together as leads.
A Romance Between Two Generations
Billed as a romantic comedy entertainer, the film will explore the relationships and differences between Gen Z and 90s generation. The story will focus on the interesting and entertaining situations that arise when people from these two generations interact with each other.
Joining Jayaram and Simran in the cast is Ponvel, who gained attention through the film ‘Vaazhai’. Devika Sathish and Bhagavathi Perumal popularly known as Bucks, will also play important roles in the film.
The project is produced by K Vijay Pandi under White Carpet Films and Shanjan G under Redacted Studious. Actor Arya’s The Show People banner will present the film.The technical team includes Deepak as cinematographer, Achu Rajamani as music composer, Arul E Siddharth as editor and Mahendran as art director.
Jayaram has already been busy in 2026 with three releases, including Kara, Parimala and Co, and GDN. Meanwhile, Simran was last seen in Tourist Family along with Sasikumar in 2025. She will next be seen sharing the screen with Superstar Rajinikanth in Dharman.
More details about the new film, including the title and release date, are yet to be announced.
