A total of 60 Tamil Language teachers took part in the Central Zone 2027 School Curriculum Dissemination Workshop, held from 17th to 20th August 2026, at Crystal Crown Hotel in Petaling Jaya.
The workshop focused on Tamil language curriculum for Year 1 students in SJKT, Year 1 students in SK and Form 1 students as well as the 2026 Character Development Programme.
The programme was organized to prepare teachers for the 2027 School Curriculum implementation, with a stronger focus on meaningful learning and helping students develop the knowledge and skills needed for the future.

It was also in line with the Malaysia Education Plan (RPM) 2026-2035. Their aim is especially to help students reach their full potential while strengthening teachers skills in curriculum, teaching methods and assessment.
Strengthening Teachers for the New Curriculum
Throughout the workshop, teachers attended 8 content sessions covering important areas of the new curriculum.
Among the topics were the introduction to the 2027 school curriculum, the Character Development Programme, an exploration of the 2027 Tamil Language Curriculum Document, Learning Standards and Performance Standards, collaborative analysis, presentation and evaluation, and Classroom-Based Assessment (PBD).
The programme ended with a summary and closing session themed ‘Taking Home Knowledge, Sowing Changes’.
The closing ceremony was officiated by Puan Azilawati binti Abu Bakar, Senior Assistant Chief Assistant Director of the Language Unit, Learning Sector at the Selangor State Education Department, on behalf of the Selangor Director of Education.
During the ceremony, she highlighted the importance of curriculum transformation and the role play in creating quality learning experiences that develops knowledge, skills and well-rounded students.
The knowledge and experience gained from the workshop are expected to help teachers bring the new curriculum into their classrooms more effectively when it is implemented in 2027.
