Dataran Putrajaya was filled with patriotic spirit as the full rehearsals for Malaysia’s 69th National Day celebration took place ahead of the main event on 31st August.
Starting at 8AM, the rehearsals gave the public a preview of the upcoming celebration with uniformed contingents, government-linked companies (GLCs), corporate participants and special performance taking part.
Thousands of people had gathered at Dataran Putrajaya from 6AM, including families who brought their children to enjoy the parade during the school holida.s patriotic songs and drum performances during the Gema Inovasi Madani segment added to the lively atmosphere.
One of the main highlights was a human graphic performance involving 1,500 students from 36 schools in Selangor. The students moved in formations and changed their visuals according to the different segments of the parade.
The rehearsal also featured an impressive display of Malaysia’s defence assets, including the PT-91M Pendekar 125mm tan, Lipan Bara high-mobility armoured vehicles and Gempita multipurpose amphibious armoured vehicles.
An aerial display and a performance by the K9 unit were also amount the attraction that caught the attention of visitors.
For the main National Day parade, a total of 10,819 participants will be involved around 76 contingents and 22 marching bands. The celebration will also have 11 decorated vehicles, 328 land, sea and air assets, and 112 service animals.
More than 80,000 people are expected to gather at Dataran Putrajaya for the National Day celebration on 31st August. This year’s theme is “Malaysia MADANI: Kesahjeteraan Dinikmati.”
