Learning skills in robotics and automation, as well as generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, can improve an individual’s employment prospects. At the same time, these technical skills can also create new employment opportunities in Selangor, said Selangor State Executive Councillor V. Papparaidu.

He said it is essential for workers to acquire technological skills and prepare themselves in line with the changing employment and industrial landscape. Workers should also view digital transformation not as a threat, but as an opportunity to acquire new skills and develop themselves into more productive employees, he said.
He said this during the closing ceremony of the Robotics and Automation Technology Skills and Generative AI Technology Skills training programmes held at the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) yesterday.

A total of 80 participants took part in the two training programmes, which were fully funded by the Selangor state government. Papparaidu also said collaboration between the government, training institutions and industry players should be further strengthened to meet the demands of the current employment market.
At the same time, he urged participants to continuously learn and upgrade their skills so they can remain prepared for changes within the industry. He expressed confidence that such efforts would help develop a new generation of workers who are able to explore technology, experiment with new ideas and adapt themselves in line with the growth of the industry.
