The announcement of an allowance for Form Six students is among the most anticipated developments for students and the education sector, said Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek.
She said the proposal to provide an allowance for Form Six students has been discussed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and will be included in Budget 2027, which is scheduled to be tabled in Parliament in October.

Fadhlina said the proposal had been raised since she took over as Education Minister and expressed her appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for responding to the needs and aspirations of Form Six students.
The Prime Minister had earlier announced that the government had agreed to provide an allocation and allowance for Form Six students, with the exact amount to be determined based on the government’s financial capacity.

Fadhlina also said the allowance was among 12 resolutions presented by Form Six students during the Madani Pre-University Congress. According to her, the Ministry of Education has accepted all 12 resolutions and will continue working towards strengthening and implementing the proposals.
The move is expected to provide greater support and recognition for Form Six students as they pursue their pre-university education.
