SJKT Rawang is set to have several development works as the school prepares to celebrate it’s 100th anniversary next year. Deputy Education Minister YB Wong Kah Woh recently met with the school’s teachers and parents to discuss several issues involving the development and future of SJKT Rawang.
Among the matters discussed were the replacement of the schools old building, the construction of new classrooms using Industrialised Building System (IBS), regularization of the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) for the old building, canteen facilities and toilet maintenance.
YB Wong acknowledged that there has been different opinions and point of views surrounding the development plans. He said the Ministry of Education had taken note of the concerns, suggestions and requests raised by the school community.
The matter has also received attention from several education officials. According to YB Wong, the Director-General of Education had been involved while the State Education Director had previously visited the school. Education Minister Fadhina Sidek and Wong have also been following up with the issue closely.
More Classrooms and Improved Facilities
Moving forward, the Ministry of Education will proceed with a replacement development project for SJKT Rawang’s old building. The new development will include an open space on the ground floor that can be used as additional canteen space, while the upper floors will be used for classrooms.
The school will also receive 6 additional classrooms through the latest IBS construction. Another 4 classrooms in the existing building will undergo a regularisation process. YB Wong said the ministry remains committed to working together with the school community to move SJKT Rawang forward.
With it’s 100th anniversary approaching next year, the planned developments are expected to mark a new chapter for the school while building on a century-long legacy for future generations.
