Malaysia’s love for coffee comes in many forms, and the upcoming Ipoh Coffee Vibes 2026 Festival is set to bring these different cultures together in one place.
For the first time, the festival will celebrate the coffee traditions enjoyed by Malaysia’s Malay, Chinese and Indian communities, while also featuring international coffee brands, food, music, art and tourism.
The four-day festival will take place on 10th September to 13th September 2026 at Riverfront Old Town Ipoh, next to Jalan Sultan Iskandar with around 40,000 visitors expected. State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee said the festival is part of efforts to strengthen Ipoh’s identity as an iconic “Coffee City”.
One Festival, Different Coffee Cultures
While Ipoh is known for it’s white coffee, the festival is more than just highlighting coffee that is enjoyed across Malaysian communities.
Visitors can discover special coffee from the Malay community, Indian-style kopi tarik and Ipoh White Coffee, alongside international brands such as Starbucks. A variety of coffee-themed snacks, desserts and food that pair well with coffee will also be available.
Around 50 food and beverage stalls will take part while participating coffee businesses will introduce “Kopi Rakyat”, offering different types of coffee at affordable prices.
The multicultural theme will continue through entertainment, including a white coffee shop-themed percussion performance, kopi tarik performance, coffee-themed flying roti canai performance, and a flash mob featuring multicultural musical instruments.
Visitors can also enjoy free white coffee from Chang Jiang White Coffee while exploring the festival and performance along Kinta River. Those who spend RM50 or more can enter a lucky draw to win cash vouchers that can be used at the festival. Visitors who spend RM100 or more can redeem a special edition of Ipoh Coffee Vibes Souvenir.
More than coffee, the festival hopes to introduce visitors to Ipoh’s history and unique character, bringing Malaysia’s different cultures together while strengthening the city’s long-standing connection with coffee.
