Johor-born youth Manmohan A/L Nathan has proudly represented Malaysia on the international stage after participating in two major youth platforms in South Korea, the One Korea Youth Forum 2026 and the South Korea International Summer Summit (SKISS) 2026.
The Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Labuan International Campus (UMSLIC) student joined young leaders, students, changemakers and passionate youths from various countries to exchange ideas and perspectives on youth leadership, peace, global citizenship, innovation and sustainable development.
A Proud Moment for Malaysian Youth
More than simply attending international programmes, Manmohan described the experience as an opportunity to step beyond borders, engage in meaningful conversations and learn from different cultures.
His participation also allowed him to explore how young people can take a more active role in addressing global challenges and contributing towards a better shared future.
Adding to the significance of his journey, Manmohan was appointed Global Ambassador of Youth Solidarity for One Korea, recognising his involvement and commitment towards youth solidarity and building connections among communities.
Learning Through Peace, Unity and Cultural Exchange
At the One Korea Youth Forum 2026, Manmohan gained deeper perspectives on peace, unity and cooperation, while learning about the importance of building bridges between people and communities.
Meanwhile, SKISS 2026 provided him with opportunities to connect with young minds from around the world through discussions and cultural exchanges, while exploring the role of innovation and youth leadership in advancing sustainable development.
Through the two platforms, he also received four international recognitions at SKISS 2026, further marking a memorable milestone in his international youth journey.
Carrying Malaysia’s Voice Beyond Borders
Reflecting on his experience, Manmohan expressed gratitude for every conversation, connection, lesson and friendship formed throughout the journey. Representing Malaysia internationally has strengthened his commitment to continue learning, connecting with people from different backgrounds and creating meaningful impact wherever he goes.
His journey is a proud reminder that Malaysian youths have the potential to contribute their ideas and perspectives beyond national borders and take their place in conversations that shape the global community. As Manmohan puts it, peace is not only about ending differences, but about building bridges strong enough to bring people together.
