Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that the Indian community will not be sidelined in Malaysia’s national development agenda, as the MADANI Government continues efforts to improve the community’s standard of living.

In a Facebook post on 3rd September, Datuk Anwar Ibrahim said introduced various efforts covering education, entrepreneurship, microfinancing, welfare and cash assistance to reduce the financial burden on families and create better opportunities for the community.

Among the areas being strengthened is access to financing for Indian entrepreneurs, allowing more people to receive the support needed to start or grow their business.

The government will also continue strengthening the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (MITRA), alongside programmes related to entrepreneurship and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

More opportunities for Indian youths are also being created through mentor-mentee programmes, with the aim of supporting their development and preparing them for future opportunities.

Addressing Issues Still Faced by the Community

Datuk Anwar Ibrahim continued his engagement sessions with Indian community leaders to review the progress of the MADANI Government’s plans and hear directly about concerns that have yet to be resolved. He acknowledged that there are still gaps that need attention, particularly involving poverty, citizenship issues, and access to government assistance.

According to the Prime Minister, these matters must be addressed quickly and effectively so that those who need support are not left behind. He also called on the relevant ministries and government agencies to work more closely together and improve the way assistance is delivered.
