For all movie lovers who enjoy watching films on the biggest screen possible, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) has a exciting news! The cinema has introduced another way to choose where to watch your next blockbuster.
GSC announced that 55 cinema halls across Malaysia are now INFINITY VISION-certified, giving it the highest number of INFINITY VISION-certified halls in the country. The certification covers a few of GSC’s existing Premium Large Format (PLF) experiences, including 4DX, Screen X, and GSC BIG.
But INFINITY VISION is not a crew cinema technology or a replacement for these formats. Instead, it works as a seal of quality, showing moviegoers that a particular cinema hall has met certain standards for it’s screen, sound, and projection.
What Makes a Cinema INFINITY VISION-Certified?
To receive the certification, cinemas are evaluated across 3 main areas. The screen must be at least 45 feet wide, while the hall must offer either immersive sound such as Dolby Atmos or 7.1 sound. Projection quality is also considered, with brightness required to reach 14 foot-lamberts for 2D and/or six foot-lamberts for 3D.

For movie lovers, this means the INFINITY VISION mark can make it easier to identify halls that offer a more immersive cinema experience without having to compare the technical details themselves.
The existing PLF name of the cinema will still be the same. For example, a GSC BIG or 4DX hall will continue to carry it’s original name while also receiving the INFINITY VISION certification if it meets the requirements.
Avengers Among the First Films to Get the INFINITY VISION Experience
The first release to be screen in INFINITY VISION-certified cinemas will be Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame Encore in September 2026.
It will be followed by Avengers: Doomsday in December, giving Marvel fans the chance to experience the films on larger screens and enhanced cinema formats.

More films are expected to be shown in INFINITY VISION-certified halls in the future. Ticket prices, however, are not set by INFINITY VISION. Prices will continue to be decided by cinema exhibitors based on the screen and experience selected.
Movie lovers can identify participating halls through the INFINITY VISION mark at cinemas, while browsing showtimes online or at the point of sale.
