Looking for something unique this Deepavali? LuxuriAsia Brings its New Fashion to KL This September

As Deepavali approaches, Malaysians looking for something unique to wear this festive season can look forward to LuxuriAsia Diwali Edit 2026, a curated fashion and lifestyle experience bringing contemporary Indian fashion and independent labels to Kuala Lumpur.

Founded by entrepreneur Sherina Mahtani-Binwani in 2024, LuxuriAsia was created from her passion for discovering unique designers and fashion pieces while travelling. After repeatedly hearing friends ask where she found her outfits, Sherina saw an opportunity to introduce Malaysian shoppers to fashion that feels more individual and different from mainstream options.

A Curated Fashion Experience

The two-day LuxuriAsia Diwali Edit 2026 will take place on September 29 and 30, from 11am to 7 pm at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Held ahead of Deepavali and the year-end wedding season, the event will feature a carefully selected range of contemporary Indian fashion, occasion wear, jewellery, accessories and footwear, giving visitors the chance to discover new pieces for upcoming celebrations.

Unlike a traditional festive bazaar with numerous vendors selling similar products, LuxuriAsia focuses on keeping the experience intimate and carefully curated.

Modern Indian Fashion Takes Centre Stage

One of the key highlights of this year’s event is the changing face of Indian fashion.

While traditional clothing remains popular, a new generation of designers is introducing cleaner silhouettes, contemporary sarees, unexpected draping, co-ord sets, jackets, capes and modern embroidery.

These designs are also created to be more versatile, allowing women to wear them beyond Deepavali celebrations and Indian weddings. A contemporary jacket, for example, can be styled for dinner, while a co-ord set can work for a cocktail event.

Bringing International Designers to Kuala Lumpur

The Diwali Edit will feature designers and brands from India, Indonesia and beyond, alongside selected Malaysian names.

Among the names included are Archana Kochhar, Vikram Phadnis, Meeta Mulchandani and jewellery label Mystique Jewels, offering visitors an opportunity to explore different styles and discover designers they may not have come across before.

For Sherina, the experience is about more than simply shopping. Visitors can explore fabrics, appreciate the workmanship, try different pieces, and potentially meet the people behind the brands, creating an experience that online shopping cannot fully provide.

A Different Way to Shop for Deepavali

With its focus on unique designs and contemporary Indian fashion, LuxuriAsia hopes to offer shoppers a different experience this festive season.

Rather than simply following trends, the platform encourages women to find pieces that reflect their individual style, personality, and versatility, while introducing Malaysian shoppers to fashion from across borders.
