Students of SJKT Lorong Java, Seremban are set to benefit from improved school facilities following a RM200,000 contribution from the Lee Foundation towards the construction of a new two-storey canteen.
The school, which currently has around 700 students, recently completed the construction of a new open-air hall, providing a larger and more suitable space for co-curricular activities, school programmes and various events. With a growing number of students, the school has now begun work on a new two-storey canteen to provide a more spacious and comfortable dining area for students and the school community.
The canteen project is estimated to cost approximately RM1.2 million. JF Nakshatra Group has committed RM600,000, covering half of the total project cost, while the remaining RM600,000 is being raised by the school board and administration. Approximately RM200,000 had been raised so far before the latest contribution from the Lee Foundation.
The additional RM200,000 contribution was secured through the efforts of Seremban Member of Parliament and Transport Minister Anthony Loke. The cheque was presented today to the school board chairman, Kalidasan, said Arul Kumar.
The contribution is expected to provide a significant boost to the school’s fundraising efforts and help accelerate the construction of the new canteen.
The school expressed its appreciation to the Lee Foundation for its continued support towards the development of SJK(T) Lorong Java, particularly in improving facilities that directly benefit students.
The latest contribution also highlights the importance of continued support from organisations and community leaders in strengthening facilities and creating a better learning environment for Tamil school students.
