A student from SJKT Arumugam Pillai, Akshayah Mahadevan, made her school and Kedah proud after becoming the national champion of the Dare to Spell Competition at the Karnival Semarak Perpaduan Bahasa 2026.
Her journey was not just a one-time victory. Akshayah showed strong and consistent performance throughout every stage of the competition.

She became the first champion at the Kuala Muda District Level, which got her a place at the next stage. She continued her winning spirit winning first place at the Kedah State Level before representing the state at the national competition.
At the National Level, Akshayah was once again on top, completing an impressive run of three championship titles from district to national level.
A Proud Achievement for SJKT Arumugam Pillai and Kedah
Akshayah’s achievement shows the hard work, discipline and determination she put into preparing for each stage of the competition.
Her national victory has brought pride not only to SJKT Arumugam Pillai, but also to Kedah, which she represented at the final stage.

The school also expressed it’s appreciation to the teachers who supported Akshayah throughout her journey, especially Teacher Uthravathi, as well as the Kedah contingent.
Her parents were also recognised for their continuous encouragement and support throughout the competition.
From becoming the best speller in Kuala Muda to representing Kedah and eventually taking the national crown, Akshayah’s journey shows what young students can achieve through conscience effort and the right support.
