SJKT Ramathasar has taken another step to create a more engaging learning environment for it’s students with the opening of a new MakerLab-STEM Room.
Officially opened on 11th September 2026, the MakerLab was transformed from an ordinary space into a modern learning room where students can explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in a more practical way.

Instead of learning only through books and lessons, students will be able to use the space to experiment, design, create, solve problems and develop new ideas through hands-on experiences. During the official opening, students had the opportunity to explore the new facilities and try out the equipment. They also demonstrated what they had learnt to the guests who attended the event.
Made Possible Through Community Support
The development of the MakerLab was made possible with the support of Phill-Orient Logistic Group of Companies, led by Mr Jay Shanker, and Prolific Cargo Services (PG) Sdn Bhd, led by Mr Theyarajan.

Both companies sponsored and supported the development of the new learning space, helping the school turn it’s plans for the MakerLab into reality. SJKT Ramathasar expressed it’s appreciation to both organizations for believing in the school’s vision and supporting an initiative aimed at creating better learning opportunities for its students.
For the school, the MakerLab is more than just a new room. It is a space designed to encourage creativity, curiosity, innovation, and exploration, while preparing students with skills that could help them in the future.

The school hopes the facility will encourage more young minds to become thinkers, creators, innovators, and problem-solvers, while giving them the confidence to learn by trying things for themselves.
With the new MakerLab now in place, SJKT Ramathasar continues its efforts to transform the school through initiatives that create meaningful and future-ready learning experiences for its students.
