A proposal has been made to relocate a public field closer to SJKT Bangi, giving students easier access to a proper space for sports and recreational activities. Selangor State Executive Councillor for Human Resources and Poverty Eradication Papparaidu Veraman said the proposal came after parents requested a field that would be more accessible to students.
The public field has already been approved by the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) and included in it’s development plan. However, the current proposed location is relatively far from SJKT Bangi.
Papparaidu has therefore suggested moving the field to a site in front of the school. The proposal would not require additional land or increase the total size of the field. Instead, it would simply move the approved facility to a location that could better serve the school and nearby residents.
“I propose relocating the field in front of SJKT Bangi. The proposal does not involve increasing the total land area but we only relocate it, so that it can benefit the residents as well as students,” he told Media Selangor.
A Shared Space for Students and the Community
Under the proposal, SJKT Bangi students could use the field for school activities during school days, while members of the surrounding community could use the space when there are no school activities.
Papparaidu said a similar arrangement has already been carried out in Section 18, Shah Alam, where a public field is shared between a school and the local community.
He believe the same approach could work for SJKT Bangi, describing it as a “win-win solution” that would allow more people to benefit from the facility. The proposal follows a recent coordination meeting chaired by Papparaidu with the relevant authorities to discuss the land status of SJKT Bangi.
However, the relocation has not been finalised yet. According to Papparaidu, the proposal still requires the developer’s agreement, and he hopes the matters can be resolve soon.
If approved, the relocated field would provide SJKT Bangi students with a more convenient space for physical activities while continuing to serve as a public recreational facility for the wider community.
