Allu Arjun and Atlee’s much-awaited Raaka has already made its mark in the record books, even before the film reaches theatres.
The upcoming sci-fi action drama has officially secured a Guinness World Records for “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time”, after 37 performers were captured simultaneously for a sequence in the film. The record was officially recognised on September 15, 2026 with Allu Arjun and director Atlee receiving the Guinness World Records certificate.
37 Performers, One Massive Motion-Capture Setup
The record-breaking feat involved 37 performers being captured together in real time, making the scale of the sequence particularly challenging from a technical point of view.
To pull it off, the Raaka team developed a specialised motion-capture setup involving 92 optical motion-capture cameras, alongside real-time visualisation, facial capture, synchronisation and other advanced technologies. The performers reportedly ranged from a four-year-old child to a 70-year-old, adding another layer of complexity to the ambitious shoot.
Sun Pictures celebrated the achievement by sharing behind-the-scenes footage of the record-breaking process, offering audiences a glimpse into how the large-scale motion-capture sequence was brought together.
A Special Milestone For Atlee And Allu Arjun
For Atlee, the achievement also carries personal significance. The filmmaker expressed that growing up, Guinness World Records was something he viewed with wonder, making the recognition a surreal moment for him and his team.
Allu Arjun also described the achievement as a proud moment for the entire Raaka team, crediting Atlee’s vision, the crew and Sun Pictures for supporting a project of such scale and ambition.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Raaka marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Atlee, with Deepika Padukone also in the cast and music by Sai Abhyankkar. While audiences will have to wait for the film’s eventual release, Raaka has already given itself a major milestone, entering the Guinness World Records before its story even reaches the big screen.
This makes the film’s record-breaking achievement more than just another production update; it offers a glimpse into the ambitious scale and technology being brought together for the Allu Arjun-Atlee collaboration.
