More families in Selangor can now benefit from the Baucar Kita Selangor (BKS) following the state government’s decision to raise the monthly household income eligibility limit from RM5,000 to RM8,000 and below.
The initiative provides eligible recipients with a total of RM600, distributed at RM100 per month for six months. The assistance can be used for essential expenses, including food, medical needs, and education. The programme is being implemented in phases until December 2026.
The Eligibility Expansion
Previously, Baucar Kita Selangor was available to households with a monthly income of RM5,000 or below. However, Anfaal binti Saari, Selangor State EXCO Member for Women Empowerment and Social Welfare, announced that the household income threshold has now been increased to RM8,000 per month.
The expansion allows more families to be considered for the initiative, including households earning between RM5,001 and RM8,000 that were previously above the eligibility limit. Eligible recipients will receive RM600 in vouchers, which can be used to support essential expenses such as food, medical needs and education.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for Baucar Kita Selangor, applicants must be Malaysian citizens, registered voters residing in Selangor, with a monthly household income of RM8,000 or below. The initiative is open to married couples or single parents with at least one child aged 18 and below, with only one recipient allowed per household.
Applicants and their spouses must also not be active BINGKAS recipients. Eligible applicants can apply through the SELangkah application by submitting the required personal, household and supporting information. Applications are open until 31 December 2026, subject to eligibility verification.
