Two young athletes from Kedah, Gurupprasath A/L Seghar and Devindra A/L Muniandy, brought pride to the state after securing medals at the 66th MSSM Athletics Championships 2026.
Competing on the third day of the championship on September 23, Gurupprasath delivered a strong performance in the Boys Under-15 5,000m Race Walk, earning a silver medal for the MSSK contingent. Devindra also put up an impressive performance in the Boys Open 3,000m, securing a bronze medal.
The achievements were highlighted by Unit Sukan, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Kedah, which took to Facebook to congratulate the MSSK contingent for their medal haul on the third day of the competition. The department also commended the commitment, hard work and discipline demonstrated by the athletes and coaches throughout the championship.
With both young athletes contributing to Kedah’s medal tally, their achievements reflect the dedication behind their sporting journeys while serving as an encouragement for other young athletes to continue pursuing excellence in sports.
As the MSSM Athletics Championships continued with two more days remaining, the Unit Sukan, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Kedah encouraged the athletes to maintain their momentum and continue striving for further success.
