The heartthrob of Indian cinema, Tamannaah Bhatia received a warm welcome from Johor fans as hundreds gathered along Jalan Segget to catch a glimpse of the actress during her visit to the city.
The excitement began hours before her arrival, with fans braving the afternoon heat to show their support for the actress. Their patience paid off when Tamannaah made her appearance at Yazhini Gold & Diamonds, where she officiated the launch of the brand’s new Ayra & Abhinaya Diamond collections.
Dressed in a pink saree, Tamannaah was greeted by loud cheers from the crowd and took time to interact with fans before making her way to the event. Her appearance turned the jewellery launch into a memorable afternoon for her Johor fans.
Five-Hour Wait Rewarded with A Special Fan Moment
Fans had begun gathering as early as 10am, with many holding posters and umbrellas as they waited for the actress to arrive. By the afternoon, the crowd had grown to several hundred, with many keeping their eyes fixed on the entrance of the Jalan Segget store.
When Tamannaah finally stepped out at around 2.50pm, the long wait was quickly forgotten as the crowd erupted into cheers of “Tamannaah! Tamannaah!”
Rather than heading straight to the stage, the actress took time to walk along the barricades, posing for selfies, greeting fans and accepting their outstretched hands. Having flown in from Mumbai only the night before, Tamannaah appeared visibly touched by the warm reception she received.
“I am so happy to see everyone still here and in such high energy despite this afternoon heat,” she told the cheering crowd.
She also expressed her appreciation for the people of Johor, saying she had been welcomed with love since arriving in the city.
“Johor fans are beautiful people. From the time I arrived last night, I have been treated with so much love,” she said.
Tamannaah Unveils New Diamond Collections
The actress was in Johor Bahru to officiate the launch of Yazhini Gold & Diamonds’ Ayra & Abhinaya Diamond Collections, with the event hosted by Chennai television personality Kiki Vijay.
Sharing her thoughts on the new jewellery pieces, Tamannaah praised the collections and highlighted their suitability as gifts.
“The Yazhini collections are amazing. They are perfect for gifting,” she said.
Yazhini Gold & Diamonds marketing manager Velan said Tamannaah was a natural choice for the launch, noting her association with elegance and style as well as her strong appeal among the brand’s audience.
Proud to Showcase Indian Culture Through Latest Film
Tamannaah’s appearance in Johor came just a day after the release of her latest film, The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, a Hindi fantasy thriller rooted in Indian folklore.
The actress stars alongside Sidharth Malhotra in the film, which draws inspiration from Indian culture and folklore. Speaking about the project, Tamannaah said she was proud of the way the film celebrates India’s cultural richness.
“India as a country has so much culture, and in this film we showed our culture,” she said.
From Tamil Cinema to Nationwide Recognition
Since making her acting debut in 2005, Tamannaah has built a strong presence across both South Indian and Hindi cinema. She won over Tamil audiences with films such as Kalloori, Ayan alongside Suriya, Paiyaa and Siruthai with Karthi, as well as Veeram opposite Ajith Kumar.
More recently, she starred in the horror-comedy Aranmanai 4, further adding to her diverse filmography. Her popularity also extended beyond the big screen, with her dance number Kaavaalaa from Rajinikanth’s Jailer becoming a nationwide sensation.
Her role in the Baahubali franchise meanwhile introduced her to audiences on a global scale, cementing her position as one of the familiar faces in Indian cinema.
For her Johor fans, however, her latest visit offered something more personal, a chance to see the actress up close, exchange a few words and share a memorable moment with the star they had patiently waited hours to meet.
