Fifty dialysis patients from B40 families across Penang have each received a one-time financial assistance of RM1,000 under the Penang Hindu Endowments Board’s (PHEB) Dialysis Assistance Programme 2026.
This second round of assistance was made possible by a RM50,000 personal contribution from Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo. The aid was presented to the recipients on September 27, 2026, at Kompleks Masyarakat Penyayang in Penang, with Ramkarpal Singh representing Gobind Singh at the event.
The financial aid aims to alleviate some of the ongoing costs faced by dialysis patients and their families, including expenses for treatment, transportation, medication, and daily living.
The event was also attended by PHEB Chairman RSN Rayer, Deputy Chairman Senator Dr. Lingesh RA, Joseph Ng Soon Siang, and others.
Earlier this year, PHEB utilized its own funds to provide the first round of assistance to another 50 dialysis patients. With this latest contribution, a total of 100 dialysis patients have received support through the programme in 2026.
PHEB hopes to continue collaborating with individuals, organizations, and community partners to extend assistance to more families facing the financial challenges associated with long-term dialysis treatment.
