Malaysian Indian youth representation in national youth development initiatives has received a boost following the appointment of Malaysian Indian Youth Council (MIYC) National President Dhanesh Basil as a member of the Youth Skills Advisory Board for the 2026–2029 term.
The appointment was announced by the Malaysian Indian Youth Council, which extended its congratulations to Dhanesh for being entrusted with the responsibility.
As a member of the advisory board, Dhanesh is expected to contribute his ideas, experience and leadership towards strengthening youth development, particularly in areas involving skills development, employability and opportunities for the younger generation.
The appointment also provides an opportunity for perspectives from the Malaysian Indian youth community to be represented in discussions surrounding skills development and the future of young people in the country.
With skills and employability becoming increasingly important in today’s evolving job market, youth representation in advisory platforms can help bring attention to the challenges, aspirations and needs of young people from different communities.
Dhanesh’s appointment marks a new responsibility in his youth leadership journey, with the MIYC expressing its confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation’s younger generation.
The council’s Exco and Supreme Council members also extended their congratulations and wished him well in carrying out his responsibilities throughout the three-year term.
