The 17-year-old singer from Atlanta brings a touch of Indian music to Billie Eilish’s Wildflower, earning three chair turns and a place on Team Kelly Clarkson.
At just 17, Indian-American singer Sanjana Santhosh, better known by her stage name Kavi Nyx, is making her mark on the American music scene after an impressive blind audition on Season 30 of NBC’s The Voice.
The Atlanta teenager performed Billie Eilish’s Wildflower during the October 6 episode, earning three chair turns from coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Riley Green.
Clarkson and Levine turned their chairs early in her performance, followed by Green. The fourth coach, Queen Latifah, had already filled her team.
With three coaches hoping to have her on their teams, Kavi eventually chose Team Kelly Clarkson, joining a singer she had admired long before appearing on the show.
What made Kavi’s performance stand out was the way she brought her own musical style to Billie Eilish’s song.
Although she performed a contemporary pop track, her singing included subtle influences from Indian music, reflecting her cultural background. Adam Levine noticed her use of Indian-influenced musical scales and praised the unique quality they added to her performance.
Kelly Clarkson also complimented Kavi’s artistry, describing her performance as purposeful and beautiful, while Riley Green praised the personality and expression in her voice.
For Kavi, the audition was more than just an opportunity to compete. It was also a chance to introduce her musical identity to a wider audience.
More Than Just a Singer
While The Voice has brought Kavi into the national spotlight, the teenager has already been building her career as a singer, songwriter and music producer.
On 24th April 2026, she released her debut single, Speak Up, through Vsharp Records.

The song explores the experience of keeping one’s thoughts and feelings to oneself to avoid conflict, before eventually finding the courage to speak up.
Apart from singing and songwriting, Kavi is also involved in music production and dance. She has been associated with Vsharp Gurukulam, a performing arts school in Dallas, as well as VSharp the Band.
Her music mainly focuses on contemporary pop, but she also draws inspiration from her Indian heritage, bringing different musical influences together to create her own sound.
What’s Next for Kavi Nyx?
Following her successful blind audition, Kavi has secured her place on Team Kelly Clarkson and will continue her journey in the competition.
The Battle Rounds were scheduled to continue on 12th October 2026, with contestants competing for a chance to advance to the next stage.
Her appearance on The Voice also highlights the growing presence of young Indian-American artists in mainstream American entertainment, especially those who bring their cultural influences into modern music.
From releasing her first single to earning three chair turns on one of America’s popular singing competitions, Kavi Nyx has already reached an exciting milestone at just 17 years old. Her journey on The Voice now gives her another opportunity to share her talent with a much wider audience.
