Kollywood is once again caught up in Thalaivar fever, and Jailer 2 is giving fans plenty of reasons to celebrate. Released on October 15, 2026, the film continues to draw moviegoers to cinemas, with many returning for a second viewing to relive their favourite moments on the big screen.
From Superstar Rajinikanth’s magnetic screen presence to Anirudh Ravichander’s electrifying music, the film brings together action, humour, family emotions and star power. If you are still wondering whether Jailer 2 deserves a spot on your watchlist, here are five reasons why it is worth experiencing in cinemas.
The IMAX Experience: Bigger Screen, Bigger Goosebumps
Some cinematic moments are simply made for the big screen, and Jailer 2 has plenty of them. Watching the film in IMAX adds another level of excitement, especially during its action sequences, mass moments, and scenes featuring Superstar Rajinikanth.
There is something special about experiencing Thalaivar’s screen presence alongside a roaring theatre audience. The larger screen and immersive sound make every punch, entry, and powerful moment feel even more intense. Whether you are watching it for the first time or returning for another round, IMAX offers a cinematic experience that is hard to replicate at home.
A Star-Studded Cast That Keeps You Hooked
The first Jailer already impressed audiences with its powerful ensemble cast, and the sequel takes things up another notch. Every character brings something different to the story, making the film more than just another Rajinikanth action entertainer.
SJ Suryah as Bodhi, Vidya Balan as Kantha, Suraj Venjaramoodu as Dileep and Namo Narayana as Moorthy add their own flavour to the film. The appearances of Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar and Jackie Shroff also bring plenty of excitement, while the much-anticipated cameo by Hrithik Roshan gives fans another reason to look forward to certain moments. Yet, at the heart of it all, Rajinikanth remains the driving force, commanding attention whenever he appears on screen.
Anirudh Ravichander: The Man Behind the Goosebumps
If there is one thing that can instantly elevate a Thalaivar moment, it is the music, and Anirudh Ravichander knows exactly how to deliver it. His background score adds energy to the action, builds anticipation during key scenes, and makes the characters’ appearances even more memorable.
What makes the music stand out is how it complements the film beyond Rajinikanth’s mass moments. The score helps shape the mood of different scenes, giving audiences plenty to remember even after the credits roll. With the Jailer 2 jukebox making its way into listeners’ playlists, the music is another reason fans may find themselves revisiting the film.
Nelson’s Magic: A Story That Keeps You Invested
Director Nelson Dilipkumar returns to the world of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian with a story that builds on the events of the first film. Following the fallout surrounding Varman, Tiger finds himself facing new enemies, with the stakes growing as the story unfolds.
Beyond the action and humour, the film gives its characters room to contribute to the larger narrative. The story moves between tense confrontations and lighter moments, keeping audiences invested in Tiger’s next move.
And just when viewers think they have seen it all, the ending leaves them with questions about what could come next. Could another chapter be on the way? For now, fans are left to speculate.
Despite its Action Elements, the Comedy Scenes Captivated Hearts
Jailer 2 is not only recognized for its action but also for its comedic moments. The standout performers in the first half of the movie are Namo Narayana, who portrays Moorthy Anna, and Yogi Babu as Vimal.
The entire Moorthy Anna gang, along with Yogi Babu’s impeccable timing, had the audience laughing out loud. The comedic chemistry between Moorthy Anna and Superstar Rajinikanth has left a lasting impression. Moorthy Anna’s innocent comedic scenes became the talk of the town, with everyone celebrating the character.
Is Jailer 2 Worth Watching in Cinemas?
With its larger-than-life action, impressive ensemble cast, memorable music and emotional family storyline, Jailer 2 brings together many of the elements that make a Rajinikanth film an occasion for fans. Whether you are going for the mass moments, the humour, the music or the story, there is plenty to look forward to.
For longtime Thalaivar fans, watching the film on the big screen is also a chance to share the excitement with fellow moviegoers. And if you have already watched it once, perhaps it is time to experience those goosebumps all over again.
