In a significant proud moment, a 13-year-old Sahill Singh has secured the Junior Category title at the 2026 Malaysian Karting Championship (MKC), marking another significant milestone in his promising motorsport journey.
Born in Johor, Sahill delivered an impressive season, recording three victories and five podium finishes across six rounds of the championship. A third-place finish in the final round at Pinnacle Kart in Subang was enough to secure the overall title, fulfilling one of his biggest goals for the year.
His achievement reflects the dedication, determination and consistency required to compete in a demanding sport, while highlighting the growing potential of young Malaysian talent on the national motorsport stage.
From a Young Enthusiast to a National Champion
Sahill’s journey into competitive karting began in 2022, when he moved from recreational go-karting to organised circuit racing. What started as an interest at a young age gradually developed into a competitive pursuit, with the young racer taking part in the Rotax, IAME Asia and KRD Championship series.
His breakthrough came in 2024, when he claimed both the Malaysian Karting Championship and KRD Championship titles in the Cadet Category. The following year, he stepped up to the more challenging Junior Category, competing against older and more experienced drivers and finishing as runner-up in his debut season.
A Dream That Goes Beyond the Finish Line
For Sahill, the national championship is an important milestone in a much bigger journey. The young racer has expressed his ambition to compete at the highest level of motorsport, with Formula 1 remaining his long-term dream.
His progress also highlights the importance of family encouragement, guidance and support in nurturing young talent. Alongside his family, his racing team, Stratos Motorsports, and supporters have played a part in his development throughout the sport.
Sahill’s achievement serves as an encouraging reminder that young Malaysians can pursue their passions and work towards ambitious goals when they are given opportunities to develop their abilities.
As he looks ahead to the next stage of his racing career, his championship victory offers plenty of reasons for the community to celebrate. More than a trophy, it represents years of learning, determination and the courage to keep pushing forward.
