A new school building is being planned for Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Tanjung Rambutan in Tambun, Perak, following safety concerns over the structure of one of its existing blocks.
According to a Facebook post by Pusat Khidmat Masyarakat Parlimen Tambun, a detailed report by the Public Works Department (JKR) found that one school building was structurally unsafe, prompting discussions about building a new one to provide a safer learning environment for students and teachers.

Representatives from Pusat Khidmat Masyarakat Parlimen Tambun recently attended a meeting at the school alongside the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG), the headmaster, officers from the Perak State Education Department (JPN), the Kinta Utara District Education Office (PPD), and a special officer to the Minister of Education.
The meeting focused on school safety, infrastructure requirements, and plans for the proposed new building to ensure that students and educators can enjoy a safer, more comfortable, and conducive learning environment. Dato’ R. Suresh Kumar was also mentioned in connection with the matter.

Pusat Khidmat Masyarakat Parlimen Tambun stated that it would continue to pay attention to educational needs and school infrastructure within the Tambun parliamentary constituency, with the welfare and safety of students and educators remaining a priority.
While the proposed construction marks a step towards addressing the school’s infrastructure concerns, further details on the construction timeline and implementation have yet to be announced.
