The Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) has continued distributing a one-off RM1,000 financial assistance to taxi, rental car and school bus drivers in Negeri Sembilan, ahead of Deepavali to help ease their financial burden as they prepare for the festive celebration.
The event, held at Dewan Bandaraya Seremban, was officiated by Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook as part of the MADANI Government’s efforts to support drivers facing rising vehicle maintenance costs and other financial commitments.

The special financial assistance is funded through proceeds from the sale of special vehicle registration numbers under the ‘H’ series, which generated RM91.2 million. The early distribution allows eligible drivers, particularly those celebrating Deepavali, to receive financial support ahead of the festival.
Drivers who have yet to receive the assistance are still eligible, provided their Driver Card and Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence remain valid or are renewed online through the Road Transport Agency (APAD)’s iSPKP system by October 25, 2026.

According to MOT, the distribution will continue in stages across the country, including Sabah and Sarawak, to ensure more eligible drivers benefit from the initiative.
The programme reflects the Malaysia MADANI principles of well-being and compassion, recognising the contributions of taxi, rental car, and school bus drivers to the country’s land transport network while providing timely financial relief ahead of the festive season.
