As Deepavali draws near, The Gardens Mall is bringing the Festival of Lights to life with a vibrant celebration of Indian culture, culinary heritage and creativity from 21 October to 9 November 2026.
Visitors can look forward to colourful cultural performances, hands-on workshops and captivating festive decorations that highlight the traditions, flavours and togetherness at the heart of Deepavali.
A Taste of Tradition: Kolam Inspired by the South Indian Banana Leaf Feast
Taking centre stage is an elaborate kolam inspired by the traditional South Indian banana leaf meal, transformed into a circular mandala. Blending art with culinary heritage, the installation celebrates the richness of South Indian cuisine, family gatherings and the spirit of hospitality.
The display features intricate food details, real spices and traditional kitchen utensils, offering visitors a closer look at the ingredients and tools used in Indian cooking. Suspended strings of dried chillies and spice pots further complement the grand feast-inspired installation, creating a striking tribute to South Indian culinary traditions.
Feel the Festive Rhythm with Vibrant Indian Dance Performances
Bringing movement and colour to the celebrations, visitors can also enjoy a series of Semi-Classical, Semi-Odissi dance performances, showcasing the beauty and diversity of Indian dance traditions.
The performances are set for October 24, 25, and 31, as well as November 1, 7, 8, and 9, with sessions at 1 PM and 4:30 PM.
From graceful movements to lively traditional rhythms, the performances promise to add to the festive atmosphere, giving visitors an opportunity to appreciate the richness of Indian performing arts while celebrating the Festival of Lights with family and friends.
