Deepavali is a time to celebrate with family and friends, and what better way to enjoy the Festival of Lights than with a delicious feast?  This year, Le Méridien Putrajaya is bringing the festive spirit to life with ‘A Festival of Flavours’, a celebration filled with Indian cuisine, cultural traditions and activities for the whole family.

Taking place from 30th October to 15 November 2026, the celebration highlights Malaysia’s multicultural heritage through a special Deepavali buffet at the hotel’s Latest Recipe restaurant, alongside festive decorations and family-friendly experiences.

A Deepavali Feast Filled With Indian Favourites

Food lovers can look forward to a selection of Indian dishes inspired by different regional flavours.

Among the highlights are Biryani Golkanda, a fragrant rice dish, and Benne Dosa, a buttery South Indian crepe. Guests can also enjoy Chingdi Macher, a Bengali-style prawn curry, Keema Kofta, made with spiced minced meatballs, and the popular Murgh Makhani, also known as butter chicken.

For those with a sweet tooth, the buffet includes traditional Indian desserts such as Carrot Halwa, Rasmalai, made with soft cheese dumplings soaked in sweetened milk, and Channa Dal Payasam, a sweet lentil pudding.

Festive Activities for the Whole Family

Beyond the food, Le Méridien Putrajaya is also introducing activities to make the celebration more enjoyable for families.

Children can take part in Kolam-inspired colouring activities at the dedicated Kids’ Corner, while colourful traditional floor decorations will add to the festive atmosphere throughout the hotel. Guests will also receive ladoo, a traditional Indian sweet, as a special festive gift.

To mark the beginning of the celebration on 30th October 2026, the hotel will host a special Deepavali lighting ceremony. Hotel associates dressed in traditional Indian attire will light diya oil lamps around a decorative kolam display in the lobby, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness.
