Veteran Indian actress and producer Radikaa Sarathkumar has been honoured with the prestigious Silver Beaver Award at the India Film Festival of Alberta (IFFA), recognising her exceptional contributions and enduring legacy in Indian cinema.
Sharing the achievement on Instagram, Radikaa expressed her gratitude to the festival organisers for the honour, love, warmth and hospitality she received during her visit to Alberta, Canada.
In her post, she described the Silver Beaver Award as a recognition of individuals whose creativity, determination and dedication have made a lasting impact on Indian cinema.
The award draws inspiration from Canada’s national animal, the beaver, which symbolises creativity, resilience, determination and the ability to transform its surroundings. Similarly, the honour celebrates artists and filmmakers who have helped shape the cinematic landscape through their talent, vision and storytelling.
Radikaa also shared that she is the second recipient of this prestigious recognition, succeeding veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who received the inaugural Golden Beaver Award.
Kamal Haasan was honoured at the India Film Festival of Alberta in 2025 for his outstanding achievements and contributions to Indian cinema.
With a career spanning several decades, Radikaa has established herself as one of the prominent names in South Indian entertainment. Since making her acting debut in 1978, she has appeared in more than 280 films across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi cinema.
The Silver Beaver Award adds another milestone to Radikaa’s remarkable journey, celebrating her contribution to cinema and the lasting impact of her work across generations.
