This is amazing!

Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengallum (Sivaranjani and Two Other Women) premiered at the film fest on September 15 and was screened on the 18 and 19 once again due to the massive response and has been awarded the Best Film Award at the 28th Fukuoka International Film Festival.

The award was presented by the Festival Director, Hariki Yasuhiro, and Kubota Isao, Chairman of the Film Festival Committee to the film’s director Vasanth.

On receiving the award, the director had said,

“I am very humbled and happy that Sivaranjani and Two Other Women has won the Best Film Award at the Fukuoka International Film Festival. I thank the festival team and I’d like to place on record my writers – the heroes – the late Ashokamitran, the late Aadhavan and the living legend Jeyamohan. They are the backbone of this film and I would like to thank them in a big way at this happy time.”

The film stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, and Kaleseewari Srinivasan as the main leads with Karunakaran, Sunder Ramu, Karthick Krishna, G Marimuthu, and Lizzie Antony in supporting roles. NK Ekambaram and Ravee Roy had cranked the camera for this film with A Sreekar Prasad editing it. Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengallum was produced by its director Vasanth under his banner Sree Chithra Talkies.

It may be noted here that Vasanth is a well-known director in the Tamil film industry with several hit movies to his credit. He is known for films like Rhythm and Nerukku Ner, last made Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal in 2013. His first film Keladi Kanmani won him the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film and for Aasai he won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Director. For directing Sanath, he had won the National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues.
