Ashok Selvan’s romantic thriller, which has him pairing up with Janani Iyer and Ishwarya Menon, has been titled Vezham. Talking about the title, debutant director Sandeep Shyam says, Vezham means elephant.
The makers decided to go for this title because the characters reflect the qualities of an elephant. For example, the elephant is known for its memory power, and the protagonist is someone who cannot get over a tragedy that had happened in his life and goes in search of the person responsible for it.
Ashok Selvan’s character, he says, will have two shades.
“He will be an innocent youngster who leads a peaceful life with his circle of friends and family in one segment, but becomes a different person after the tragedy,”
The story happens in two different time periods, and Sandeep says both his female leads have equally important roles. Janani plays a writer while Ishwarya will be seen as a woman who has studied abroad and come back to Ooty, where she lives with her family.
Jhanu Chanthar, who has been the guitarist for Santhosh Narayanan in many films, will be making his debut as the music director in this film, which will have cinematography by Shakthi Arvind, an associate of George C Williams.
