Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film Bigil has landed in trouble after charges of copyright violation. Director Nandi Chinni Kumar, a Hyderabadi short-filmmaker has claimed that that the entire story of Bigil isn’t his yet he came to know that there are primary similarities between his film Slum Soccer and the Atlee directorial film after watching the film’s trailer that was released recently.
He also claimed that the character played Vijay, who will be seen essaying a football coach hails from slums in Bigil is strikingly similar to the lead role from his film Slum Soccer, which is reportedly based on a football player named Akhilesh Paul.
Currently, in the pre-production phase, the film will be made simultaneously in Hindi and English and the team is hunting for the cast and crew.
Nandi Chinni Kumar approached the Telangana Cinema Writers’ Association to file a case against the team of Bigil for allegedly stealing the soul of his film Slum Soccer. The Vijay starrer is currently being reviewed by the Telangana Cinema Writers’ Association, and the copyright issue is expected to be resolved soon. Nandi has also added that he is trying to make contact with the executive producer of Bigil, Venkat Manickam for asking an explanation for regarding copyright violations.
