The sequel of Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai went on floors and the shooting is currently underway. Directed by debutant Anandan; the film stars Shraddha Srinath and Regina Cassandra as the leads. The latest reports suggest that the makers have zeroed down on the film’s title and it may be titled Chakra. While an official confirmation on the same is expected soon, the film is likely to hit the marquee for Pongal next year.
Irumbu Thirai had hit the silver screens on May 11 last year to a positive buzz and its Telugu dubbed version Abhimanyudu made it to the silver screens on June 1. Directed by PS Mithran Irumbu Thirai was produced by Vishal under his banner Vishal Film Factory. While Vishal and Samantha played the lead pair in the film, it also had Arjun Sarja in a pivotal role.
Meanwhile, Vishal is awaiting the release of Sundar C directorial Action. Vishal, Tammannah and Aishwarya Lekshmi play the main leads in this action entertainer. Action is scheduled to hit the marquee this year and the release date is not out officially yet.
It was also recently announced that Mysskin and Vishal will reunite for the sequel to their highly successful Tamil crime thriller, Thupparivaalan. The latest update is that the project will go on the floors from December and the entire film will be shot in London for 45 days. Recently, Mysskin was in London to lock locations for shooting and he’s currently busy with the pre-production.
Directed by Mysskin Thupparivaalan had hit the screens in 2017. In the film, Vishal played a detective called Kaniyan Poogundran, modeled after Sherlock Holmes. Actor Prasanna played his sidekick, a character very close to Sherlock’s partner Dr Watson. Even before the film’s release, Vishal confirmed he will be reuniting with Mysskin for the sequel.
