The first-look of Suriya’s upcoming film with Sudha Kongara titled Soorarai Pottru was released on Sunday. The poster shows Suriya jumping with his arms wide open above a boulder, while the city lies far behind him. The film is expected to be released in Summer 2020.
The actor sports a muscular look in the poster of the film that is reportedly based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath – founder of the budget airline Air Deccan.

Produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, the film marks the southern debut of well-known Bollywood producer Guneet Monga, who will be co-producing this project. The film, which marks the first-time collaboration of Suriya and Sudha, has music by GV Prakash Kumar, who has already composed all the songs for the album.
When the film’s title was revealed in April this year, the poster had the actor in a typical shirt and dhoti outfit against the background of a gigantic aeroplane. Apparently, Sudha had pitched the story of Soorarai Pottru nearly three years ago but Suriya couldn’t immediately give his nod because he was occupied with multiple commitments.
The film also stars Telugu veteran actor Mohan Babu and Malayalam actor Aparna Balamurali. Last seen on screen in a cameo in Savitri biopic Mahanati, it is rumoured that Mohan Babu plays the antagonist in Soorarai Pottru.
International stunt choreographer Greg Powell, who is known for his work in films such as Skyfall and Bourne Ultimatum has choreographed stunts in this film.
Suriya who was last seen in Kaappaan expected to join hands with filmmaker Bala for a third time, having previously worked together in Nandha and Pithamagan. Apparently, the film will also star Arya and Atharvaa in crucial roles. An official announcement regarding the project is expected to be made very soon.
