Avartana, a new band hailing from Penang, is set to change the music scene with their upcoming show, Carnatic Cocktails. The event will be a fusion of Carnatic, Western and Asian music styles, and they assure us, it will be an event to remember.
The band comprises of Vijayakumar Gopinath at the helm with his soulful Carnatic vocal expertise. Kumaran Rajangam holds the band with his sublime tabla skills, Cajon and other side percussions. Be ready for some breathtaking guitar skills from Krishinthen Shanmugam, while Prem Sockalingam will blow your mind with the violin.
This band will transport you to a whole new world of musical fusion that experiments with the various genres, honouring Carnatic music with every tune.
Avartana is going to change the music scene with their debut performance, titled Carnatic Cocktails on Sunday, the 24th of November 2019 at the Temple of Fine Arts Penang. Tickets are by invitation.
