The Malaysian national cricket team captain, Winifred Anne Duraisingam has led her team, the Northern Queens to victory at the Malaysian Super Women League (MSWL) Cricket Tournament.
The Northern Queens defeated the Eastern Lioness by six wickets in a dramatic final match at Kinrara Oval in Puchong, earlier today.
The match that was held in a T20 format saw the Northern Queens score 138 runs, (over 4 wickets), while Eastern Lioness accumulated 135 runs, losing one wicket.
26-year-old Winifred played a big role for Northern Queens by hitting 61 runs, followed by Australian all-rounder, Adelaide Campion with 42 runs.
The MSWL saw 27 top Malaysian cricketers and 26 invited players from Australia, Vanuatu, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Myanmar participate. In an interview with the local news, Winifred commended the tournament for exposing Malaysian cricketers to players of different nations.
Third place went to the Central Super Girls led by former world record holder Mas Elysa Yasmin Zulkifli with 129 runs (4 wickets).
