The first look of Taapsee Paanu’s upcoming biopic of women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj has been released.
The film is directed by Rahul Dholakia (of Parzania, Raees-fame), and will be produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
Taapsee lookes fierce in the the first look poster of Shabaash Mithu. Taapsee as Mithali Raj is sporting the blue Indian jersey, and she wears a determined expression on the pitch.
A close-up shot shows her in the batting position, ready the take the strike on the field.
Tapsee shared the first look poster to her Twitter by saying:
Mithali had retired from T20s in September 2019. However, she is likely to play for the national team till next year’s World Cup.

Apart from Shabaash Mithu, Taapsee is also part of another upcoming sports film titled Rashmi Rocket and the movie follows the protagonist, Rocket, an untrained fast runner from Kutch. She will also be seen in director Anubhav Sinha’s social drama Thappad, slated to release International Women’s Day, 6 March 2020.
The director has announced Shabaash Mithu will hit the screenon 5 February 2021.
