Congrats to her! She is such a bundle of talent!
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is on top of her game now. From donning roles of an antagonist in films like Sarkar and Sandakozhi 2 to choosing some wise roles for the future, Varalaxmi sure does know how to own a film no matter what genre it is!
She entered the film industry as a lead with the film Poda Podi alongside Simbu.
As her next film Velvet Nagaram is all set to release soon, Varalaxmi took her time out to share the happy news of completing 25 films in the film industry. Sharing this moment with her friends and fans, Varalaxmi wrote, “It has been a long and difficult journey. They say good things are never easy to get and it holds true in my case. But dreams do come true. I have worked hard to the best of my ability. I have faced many challenges to get to this point in my life. Now to think that I have completed 25 films seems like a huge benchmark for me. I want to thank all those people who stood by me no matter what and always had my back. I also want to thank those who stood against me and discouraged me. Thank you because your negativity made me stronger and stubborn to prove that you are wrong. Thank you to all my loving fans who have supported me, loved me and grown with me. I want to thank all my directors and producers who had faith in me and believed in me unconditionally. I want to thank God for having blessed me with so much joy, love, success, and positivity.”
Varalaxmi has made her identity all by herself in the industry. Her father and actor-turned-politician Sarathkumar talked about how he never stood up for her when her first film’s release had certain issues that needed to be resolved. In a recent interview, the actor said,
“As an actor-dad, I have not done anything for the growth of her career. When she faced problems with Poda Podi I should have intervened and helped her. But, I didn’t. I sincerely apologize to Varu for that. Had I guided her on which films to take up, she would have become a big star by now. However, with her own grit and willpower, she has shone in various roles and established herself. I am in awe of her.”
We are so happy that she has continued her film journey despite seeing a few setbacks! You go girl!
