Mojo Projects has released a statement saying the highly anticipated concert, Maestro Ilaiyaraaja – Live in Kuala Lumpur, has been postponed to 20th February 2021.
This is the second time the concert is being postponed. The concert was initially to be held on the 14th of March 2020. Three days before the event date, the organisers announced that the event was postponed to June. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja – Live in Kuala Lumpur was supposed to be held in twelve days, on June 20th, at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
Maestro Ilaiyaraaja – Live in Kuala Lumpur was supposed to be held in twelve days, on June 20th, at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
“As organisers, we are half-hearted about postponing our shows as we do not want to disappoint the ardent fans who are the very life of our shows,” the statement read.
“Given the circumstances, the Maestro Ilaiyaraaja – Live in Kuala Lumpur concert will not take place as scheduled in June as the date is not feasible for public programmes due to the current government restrictions. Hence, the event is now postponed to Saturday, 20th February 2021, at the same time and venue. All current tickets will be honoured at that time,”
Refunds still on case to case basis
Mojo Projects is currently looking into queries for refunds on a case by case basis, according to the statement.
“Please email our ticketing partner at support@AirasiaRedtix.com with relevant ticketing details for assistance. All requests need to be submitted by 22 June 2020,” the statement read.
The deadline is to enable the organisers to start working on upcoming e-concerts and allocate sufficient free tickets to all ticket holders, hence we need a cut-off date.
“Do note that once the refund is processed, your seats will be released and you will not be able to re- purchase at the offer price you bought at, we also will not be able to guarantee that the pricing will remain unchanged,”
Same singers?
Ticket holders have begun to question the organisers about the lineup for the concert in February.
Apart from Ilaiyaraaja, SP Balasubrahmanyam, Mano, Haricharan, Shweta Mohan, Usha Uthup, Surmukhi, Vibhavari, Madhu Balakrishnan, Mukesh, Priya Himesh, Bhavatharini and Anitha were scheduled to entertain the audience at this concert.
The organisers have not made any statement pertaining to this, at press time.
