A clean up was done at the Ipoh Hindu Cemetery by local volunteers, located at Taman Mewah. Kinta district environmentalist Muniswaran Mayandi stated that the appeal for  approval has to be made to Chief Minister of Perak, Ahmad Faizal Azumu who is also the Tambun Member of Parliament (MP) to carry forth the spring cleaning.

Ipoh City Councillor Yougan Mahalingam visited the cemetery site last Saturday during the cleanup and announced in the coming future that the local council would also lend a helping hand during the cleanup session.

When Varnam contacted Yougan said they are in urgent need of helpers. The Indian community are currently facing trouble to carry out the crematorium of their loved ones due to uncleanliness and had to do it at a nearby Chinese burial site.

Not long, the Chinese community had to stop them from the cremating process. Hence, they were forced to travel to Buntong to cremate. Thus, Yougan urged the Indian community to come forward and help them organise and clean up the cemetery.

In addition to that, civil servant Selvaraju Meenakshi Sundaram showed his support by promising to collaborate with those involved in the spring cleaning activity with his friends in the future.

Volunteers are always welcomed and encouraged to clean up public places in ensuring a clean and green environment.

For further details, please contact Yougan via Facebook.
