The Bachchans Test Positive For Covid-19

Bollywood bigwigs, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, his wife Aishwarya Rai and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan have confirmed to being tested positive for Covid-19. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were reported to be infected with the virus by hospital authorities on 11th July 2020, Saturday.

Covid-19 is an infectious disease known to cause respiratory problems to the infected person. The first case was diagnosed in Wuhan, China in 2019, when a sudden unidentifiable pneumonia case was reported. The disease is spread out through close contact from one person to another. This virus can cause someone to be very ill and also lead the infected person to death by disrupting their entire respiratory system.

COVID-19 has manifested and created panic among the public since the virus was established as a global health crisis. The COVID 19 widespread has significantly disrupted many countries’ routine due to the implementation of a global lockdown, causing people to stay at home, so they are not infected by this airborne virus. As of now, 12, 947,855 people have been infected and 567,744 have died from this pandemic.

Both father and son have released the news on their social media handles, prior to being admitted at Nanavathi Hospital.

Yesterday, Health Minister of India, Rajesh Tope posted the news on his Twitter account stating both Aishwarya Rai and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan have also contracted Covid-19, however reports for Amitabh Bachchan’s wife, Jaya Bachchan has been negative.

Amitabh Bachchan released a public statement on his social media account requesting those that have been in close contact with him for the past 10 days to get checked immediately. Whereas, Abhishek has asked netizens to not panic and be calm regarding this matter.

Celebrities like Mohanlal, SJ Suryah, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and fans have voiced out their heartfelt get well-soon wishes and prayers for the well-known family on their social-media posts.

Unfortunately, India happens to be one with the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the Asian continent. The country has reported to have 850,000 confirmed cases and 22, 674 deaths. India’s first case was reported on 30th January 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown on 24th March 2020.

Covid-19 has to be taken very seriously. Preventive measures have to be strictly followed by individuals to avoid being infected. Practice social distancing, avoid crowded places and always remember to sanitise and wear a face mask everywhere you go.
