In conjunction to this year’s unforgettable and remarkable Independence Day, Minnal FM made a great initiative to embrace the talents of our localities bringing them over to the limelight by conducting a program called Aspirasi Merdeka.

They held 2 competitions in line, a poster competition under the theme “Malaysia Prihatin” and a one minute video competition under the theme “Malaysiaku Syurgaku“.

Minnal FM is a popular 24-hours broadcasting radio station that has been doing well entertaining its audiences for almost 3 decades. This radio network is officiated and run by Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) and serves mostly to the Malaysian Indian community.

This competition received an overwhelming response from the community with over 600 and 50 participants respectively each and only the best 5 were chosen as the winners with no entitlement of 1st or 2nd, appreciating all their talents equally.

The competition was judged by renowned director Dr Vimala Perumal and respected figure in society dr Velu Perumal.

The reviewers played quite a salient role, given the opportunity to share their thoughts and advises to uplift the participants’ spirit with their mere talent and skills by diving into themselves more to unleash their hidden talents in hopes to sore on wings like eagles.

The talents were encouraged to not rest on the laurels received in this competition but to work harder to sharpen their gifts to greatness, as in order to shine, one has to stand out among its competitors and impress the judges.

The winners received a cash price of RM 200 for the poster competition and RM 300 for the video competition each.

The winners are all from different walks of life and come from various states across the country.

This is a great initiative done by Minnal FM in engraving such programs to unleash the amazing talents available in abundance out there.

We hope to see more of such programmes in the future.
