Helmed by Sudha Kongara, and featuring Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Soorarai Pottru has entered the OSCAR Race under the General Category for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Original Score & other categories!
The storyline of the film follows the tale of a common man with a huge dream in the 1990s of launching a low-cost airline. In all prominent portions, the blockbuster hit film will contend with many other movies that have achieved equal blockbuster success.
Soorarai Pottru was one of the first Tamil movies that was streamed on OTT platforms and received thunderous responses from the audience.
Rajsekar Pandian, who is the co-producer of Soorarai Pottru and GV Prakash the music composer of the film had announced the good news via their respective social media platforms.

The Academy focuses on ensuring that the event is conducted in a conventional way. It is to be seen, though, if they set a schedule in motion to stage the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre.
The Oscars are slated to take place on April 25th 2021. The Academy Awards shortlist will be revealed on 9th February, and nominations will be announced on 15th March.
